Mike and Alyssa Wedding

Last week Mike and Alyssa tied the knot. I was blessed to have the company of fellow photographers Carly Carlson and Jessica Kettle tag along and help me with the shooting. I can't wait to see the images they got. It was a rocking good time and the reception was awesome. Once again I got really teary eyed during the daddy daughter dance and first dance. Those have to be my favorite parts of the wedding. I've got one more engagement that I'm shooting tonight that I'll be blogging soon, then it's off to Newport Beach California for Whitney and Morgan's wedding. Here were some of my favorite moments from Mike and Alyssa's wedding.

Cami and TJ Engagements

Say hello to Cami and TJ. They met years ago and started dating in December of 2008. Cami saw TJ at the singles ward and introduced herself and a few months later they began dating. These guys are a lot of fun together and both have the coolest personalities. They love to vacation and love the outdoors. We had so much fun shooting and these two are so good for each other. They love the movie Hot Rod and anyone that loves the movie Hot Rod is ok by me :) They also like hiking, biking, wrestling, shopping and cooking together, jumping on the tramp and making out :) Here were some of my favorite shots.

Workshop shoot with JK and CC

So last weekend I hosted a little personal workshop for my very good friends and most talented photographers Jessica Kettle of Jessica Kettle Photography and Carly Carlson of Carly Carlson Photography. Jessica found this really awesome abandoned house down in American Fork and rounded up some models for the shoot. We got there just before sundown and shot into the night. This house that we shot in was very very old and had the most awesome wallpaper and exposed bricks. However, once it got pitch black, I must admit that I was very spooked. Then while we were shooting in the pitch black, we heard a couple noises coming from upstairs, but Jessica was determined to nail this backlit shot with the pocket wizards. Then a loud bang quickly ended the session as we all ran out of the house screaming. Lol, talk about terrifying, I think I may have watched to many scary movies. Anyways, here were a couple of my favorites from the session.

Rachael and Tyler the video session

Hey all, so I finally got done putting together Rachael and Tyler's music video that I shot with my 5d mark II. I really enjoy shooting video but man is it ever time consuming. I just spent the last 5 hours putting this together and it's only 3.5 minutes long :) Anyways, I am happy with the final result. Thanks so much Rachael and Tyler for an awesome session.

Rachael and Tyler

Many of you will recognize my intern Rachael from previous blog posts and possibly even seen her at some of my weddings and sessions. This time it was her turn to be in front of the camera with her husband Tyler. Since Rachael would normally hold my reflector on my sessions, I was lucky enough to have Shanda Butterfield come along to assist :) Shanda took a one on one class with me a couple of weeks ago, so thank you Shanda for tagging along on the shoot :) I had a hard time narrowing it down, but these were some of my favorites. I think the last shot shown is one of my personal favorites from the session :)

Kat and Tyler Engagements

Meet Kat and Tyler :) Kat and Tyler met in Psych class in September of last year. Kat loves to eat sushi and paint, but I think one of my favorite things about Kat is she loves any kind of gummy candy as do I :) Kat and Tyler wanted more of a classic and vintage feel to the engagement session, so we shot at Memory Grove, The Capitol, and this really cool building next to the governors mansion in SLC. Some of Kat and Tyler's favorite things to do are going on drives, taking nature walks, eating out for dinner, and watching silent and current movies :) As you can tell in the following pictures, these guys can not only pull off some supermodel moves, but they also have a lot of fun together :) I can't wait for the wedding in October. Here are some of my personal faves.

Emily and Matt Engagements

Meet Emily and Matt. I had the pleasure of shooting their engagements last weekend in downtown SLC. These guys met on their first day of freshman year at the Utah State University. They lived in the same apartment complex and they met up on the roof of the building. They are getting married in September on the 6th anniversary of their first kiss :P how cool is that? These guys love watching movies together and going for walks. They also love going to different shows, plays, and musicals, so I thought it'd be fun to do a few shots outside of Capitol Theater. They are both living in Portland Oregon right now and I can't wait for the wedding. Here were some of my favorites from the session.

Alyssa Bridals - MIKE AVERT YOUR EYES TIL 6/26/09

Mike, Alyssa says don't even think about peeking at these until after 6/26/09 :P So quick, turn away, avert your eyes, close the browser and be a good boy. I will hit enter many times to make sure there are no accidents of your eyes beholding these gorgeous shots. I will do this now, everyone else, please follow me by scrolling down :)

Ok, wow, that was close. Now that Mike is gone, I can finally share with you some shots from Alyssa's bridal session. I guess I could have just waited til after the wedding to post these, but I liked them too much to keep them to myself. I had such a very very hard time narrowing it down to my top 20, because Alyssa rocked the session so good. Anyways, here they are :) Special thanks to Lindsey who came along with Alyssa and helped me out with her mad lighting skills. I had an absolute blast and we all laughed so hard during the session and had such a great time, that I was sad when it was over. Thankfully the wedding is in a couple weeks :)

Sarah and Jared Engagements

Last night, Rachael and I shot Sarah and Jared's engagements in downtown SLC. Sarah and Jared met through Sarah's brother who worked with Jared. Jared has some mad skateboarding skills so we had him bring his board along for some shots. Their wedding is next month and I can't wait. Sarah and Jared are each other's first loves. Here are some of my favorites from the session.

Analise and Dan Wedding

I had such an awesome time shooting Analise and Dan's wedding. It was my first time shooting at Draper Temple and it was such a gorgeous day. I love blue clouds with big white puffy clouds, but who doesn't? While Rachael and I were waiting for Analise and Dan to come out, we met a couple of really awesome photographers and scoped out the grounds for all the hot spots. The reception was held at Smoot Hall located at This Is The Place Heritage Park across from the zoo. It was also my first time shooting there and I loved the old time feel to the location. There were so many cool places to shoot at. Here were some of my favorite shots from the day. Thanks for coming and helping out Rachael. Congrats Analise and Dan :) Hope you had an awesome honeymoon.
